A lot of people will disagree.
The Gnasher and the Sawwed Off only have two differences.
1. The Appearance.
2. The Range of the shot.
But what most people fail to realize is... Almost any shot taken from the Sawwed Off, can also be performed by the Gnasher. Just hear me out for a second...
The only time I frown upon the Sawwed Off, is when some pathetic camper is waiting around a corner. But the other night, I had an epiphany. That campers with the Gnasher can do the same thing.
I have the Onyx Gnasher Medal. (like any experienced Gears of War player should have by now.) And I decided to try and get the Sawwed Off Onyx Medal. In my experience through using the Sawwed Off, I had a change of heart. See, I used to be one of those guys, where when I was killed by a Sawwed Off I would blame the other player. Call him a noob and what not.
But after using the Sawwed Off for just a mere two weeks, my mind has changed greatly.
The Sawwed Off has little range. A long reload time. And you only have 4 bullets. The only advantage that I can see from using the Sawwed Off, is the ability to get more than one kill at a time.
But back to the disadvantages.
Do you realize how fucking hard it is to get close to anyone who is decent with a Gnasher? Its ridiculous. It really is.
I know a lot of people will hate on this post, and disagree with me. But I want to hear your argument. I do not want to argue, I just simply am looking for someone to explain to me why so many people complain about it.
My advice, play Gears of War 3 like EVERYONE has a Sawwed Off. I promise you will see how petty that weapon really is.
Also... I do not condone using the Sawwed Off, like I said, the Gnasher is far superior, and after I receive my Onyx Sawwed Off, than I will most likely never use it again.
